New York’s new $2.2 billion wall will be painted with colors.
The new wall will feature painted brick, piping and metal mesh to give it a new look.
The city’s department of transportation is currently installing the wall, which will span between the Hudson River and the Catskills, in two phases.
The first phase will begin in 2019 and run for three years.
The wall will contain up to 100,000 square feet, with the first phase covering 5,000 feet.
The second phase will cover 11,000 yards.
Construction is expected to take three years, but the cost of the project is expected a minimum of $4 billion.
The department says it will be complete by 2025.
